Delightful Rajasthan

Rajasthan is located in the north western part of India, it borders Pakistan in northwest, Gujarat in southwest, Madhya Pradesh in southeast, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab in northeast. The western part of the state consists largely of the Thar Desert (Great Indian Desert) and is sparsely populated. Rajasthan has a population of 68.5 million people. Capital and largest city is Jaipur.
Rajasthan, which means ‘Land of the Kings’, is soaked with stunning palaces and royal hilltop forts outlined against rich and speckled countryside. It is India’s second biggest state, with a strong infrastructure, Rajasthan simply pulsates with life. In all places people are walking, riding, running, sitting, talking, buying, selling, quibbling or just ‘being’, and Rajasthan’s pure prosperity of culture, tradition, alluring colour and antique sites have fascinated and enthralled generations of guests. The countryside is enormously diverse: callous, barren deserts contrast amid rollinggreen hills, hot days & cool nights, rustic farmland with big, bustling cities. Architecturally, speculate range from glory of plentiful Islamic architecture to massive forts, marbled palaces, and elaborate temples of many faiths. Anywhere you journey in Rajasthan you’ll be struck by the sturdy colours, the welcoming people and the extreme attractiveness of its scenery.
Rajasthan attracted 14 percent of total foreign visitors during 2009–2010 which is the fourth highest among Indian states. It is fourth also in Domestic tourist visitors.=Tourism is a flourishing industry in Rajasthan. The palaces of Jaipur and Ajmer-Pushkar, the lakes of Udaipur, the desert forts of Jodhpur, Taragarh Fort (Star Fort) in Ajmer, and Bikaner and Jaisalmer rank among the most preferred destinations in India for many tourists both Indian and foreign. Rajasthan is famous for its forts, carved temples, and decorated havelis, which were built by Rajput kings in pre-Muslim era Rajasthan.[citation needed] Rajasthan’s JaipurJantar Mantar, Mehrangarh Fort and Stepwell of Jodhpur, Dilwara Temples,Chittorgarh Fort, Lake Palace, miniature paintings in Bundi, and numerous city palaces and haveli’s are part of the architectural heritage of India.
